Online Gambling regulation in Canada

Online Gambling regulation in Canada Gambling legality varies from country to country. Canada is one of the many countries, similar to the United States, where gambling is not legal online if the casino is located in the country. However, in the US it is illegal completely. Many people in the country want the gambling to be legalized online so that they too can enjoy online gambling like many others do as well. Any of the illegal casinos which are owned and operated in the country cannot be played at by Canadian citizens. The only individuals who are allowed to allocate their funds here are individuals living outside of the country’s boundaries.

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission has provided licenses for individuals to open up online gaming casinos in the Kahnawake Territory which is Indian owned and operates. Since the territory lies within Canadian boundaries it is questionable on how legal it is to actually have them present and the legality can be confusing and lie on somewhat of a slippery slope. Since gambling online is not legal it should be legal for Canadian citizens to gamble at the casinos which are contained within the country.

This confusion has led to a need for the government to come forth with a stance that clarifies what is and isn’t legal in Canada. The government needs to be aware of where the revenue from these online gambling casinos is going. It should be encouraged to stay in the country. However, since online gambling is legal in the country but not at the casinos which are actually located here. This means that money which has been earned in the country is being sent out of the country to other casinos which are located outside of the boundaries. The government should not allow this to continue to happen because it means valuable resources are sent elsewhere.

Kahnawake Gaming CommissionThe licenses which have been granted to these casinos operating on Indian property are causing a lot more controversy than needs to be present. Canadian citizens have the possibility that they can continue to enjoy online gambling while keeping their income inside the country. The Canadian government can increase their revenue pool from taxes by taxing the online gaming industry within the nation. Opening up online gambling casinos will allow people to continue to enjoy themselves while they help the country’s financial standing as well.

Canadian politicians should take their time to sit down together in order to come up with some laws that will benefit the country as a whole and the individuals who intend to play recreational opportunities. The gambling is indeed legal within the country but the boundaries are fuzzy. People who play in Canada are going to want to play in their own country. The number of people who are playing may also increase if the gambling is done in the country itself instead of being outsourced to foreign nations where money that could possibly remain in the country to benefit itself as a whole. Many if Canada does it the United States will follow suit.
